Four million children and adolescents in this country suffer from a serious mental disorder that causes significant functional impairments at home, at school and with peers. Of children ages 9 to 17, 21 percent have a diagnosable mental or addictive disorder that causes at least minimal impairment.

The Child and Adolescent program at the Institute of Living provides exceptional medical care along with education and recreation.

Music has the ability to impact our mood as a medium for processing emotions and can be utilized as a calming agent for anxiety.

We would like to provide the children in this program the opportunity to experience the power of music through performers on the unit.
