Do you have experience with youth and a passion for chess? If so, this is a great volunteer position for you!
Riverview Library is starting a chess club this fall after Labor Day and is looking for a volunteer to help. Chess club volunteers will play chess and answer questions.
Chess club will take place on Thursday evenings from 6-7 p.m. and be advertised towards youth ages 8-18. You will work closely with library staff to help ensure that chess club is a successful experience for all participants.
The best candidate for this position is someone with enthusiasm for working with children and knowledge of chess.
We are looking for someone who can work with diverse populations and can be professional, friendly, and welcoming.
Your volunteer hours will take place during chess club. We ask that you maintain a consistent, dependable, and helpful presence in the library by communicating absences, asking questions when they arise, and being willing to learn.
We look forward to you joining our team as we connect, learn, discover and grow with our community.
