ORGANIZATION: Reading Connections, Inc

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to work in collaboration with our literacy tutors to provide resources, guidance, and one-on-one support to adult literacy students looking for employment. Did you know that over 70,000 adults in Guilford County struggle with basic literacy skills? Literacy is a fundamental skill that affects all areas of a person's life. Not being able to read and/or write in English greatly hinders one's ability to get a job, thrive in a career, seek proper healthcare, and engage with their community. Reading Connections exists to support these individuals in reaching their literacy goals. We can’t do it without dedicated volunteers who work with students one-on-one and in small groups to improve their reading, writing, speaking, listening, math, technology, and employability skills. Volunteering as a Career Coach with Reading Connections is a great way to effect real change in your community and have a lasting impact on someone's life.
