Assess current Service to Armed Forces & International Services (SAF-IS) programming, through Red Cross and partner agencies, in your site authority, create and develop a plan for program growth and sustainability, and measure progress utilizing ARC Values, and SAF-IS Humanitarian Service Goals and Metrics. Cultivate relationships and partnerships with external constituents in the community, including government organizations, civic organizations, and other and nonprofit agencies with the purpose of furthering the mission of SAF-IS. Outreach includes command meetings, education briefings, presentations, or information sessions. Develop and implement a strategic volunteer program to recruit, engage, train, and enable delivery of all SAF-IS programs and services in the military and international communities. Input and evaluate data for accuracy. Generate data reports on a scheduled and/ or periodic basis for management or local command. Make recommendations for continuous improvement to ensure metrics are consistently met.

Assist in the implementation of SAF-IS programs and services to meet the needs of US military communities and of people who have been displaced by war or international disasters through managing volunteers and working with other Red Cross departments. Through program support and service, the SAF-IS VISTA will help alleviate the symptoms of poverty by focusing on vulnerable populations, addressing the root causes of the issues by providing program support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. SAF-IS VISTA will perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
