Are you in need of volunteer hours for school? We offer many different opportunities for you to volunteer with us. If you are a teen, you can be a companion volunteers that can brighten someone’s day. If you are a college student studying in the Social Work field, we offer internships to help you reach your goal.
Do you need service hours for your college degree? Or are you interested in learning more about the medical field? We have flexible volunteer opportunities that would be a great fit for you!
Volunteering with hospice patients is beneficial for all kinds of degrees! Nursing, social work, gerontology, PT/OT, pre-med, social sciences etc...
If you are in a specialty occupation, like music or art therapy we would love to speak with you regarding the needs of our patients. All student volunteers are welcome to join our team!

Hospice is a special kind of caring. Hospice care is patient and family centered and seeks to provide support and comfort to those facing a life limiting illness. As a volunteer, you can play a large role in our efforts by sharing and developing skills and interests in a manner that enriches the quality of life for those you serve.
Nationally, over 100,000 people serve as hospice volunteers and give millions of hours of their time to serve terminally ill patients and their families.
COVID-19 considerations
Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice is adhering to CDC, State and local orders with regard to COVID-19 and implementing processes that promote the safety of our employees, volunteers, patients, and clients.
How you can help
Hospice volunteers help patients and families in a variety of ways including some of the following:
- Companionship, listening, playing cards with, playing music, reading to patients.
- Spiritual support
- Errands, yard work, organization
- Creating memories (scrapbooks, audio/visual tapes, etc.)
Hospice volunteers can also provide the agency with clerical support in a variety of ways including:
- Internet research projects
- Photocopying/and filing
- Assembling information packets
- Assisting with mailings
- Making support telephone calls to patients and families
Service hours are very flexible and scheduled according to your availability.

Volunteer requirements: Like people, complete application paperwork, including background and reference check; drug test, two TB tests, and attend volunteer orientation.
