Volunteers are needed to support this key CARA event that supports runners preparing for fall marathons. The Ready to Run 20 Miler provides a fully-supported 20 Mile run with a unique point-to-point course along Chicago's lakefront.
A variety of roles are available for individual sign-up:
Pacer Check-In (5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.) - Volunteers will assist in checking-in pacers/group leaders prior to the start. This role is located at the Montrose Harbor Wilson Track.
Gear Check Start Area (5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.) - Volunteers will support participants at the start, checking their bags pre-run. This role is located at the Montrose Harbor Wilson Track.
Beer Garden (8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) - Volunteers will help finishers celebrate by managing the beer garden. This role is located at Jackson Park. (Volunteers must be 21 & Over)
Finish Line Area (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) - Volunteers will assist with general roles at the finish line and or within the finish area celebration area. This role is located at Jackson Park.
Medical Team (Shift Varies By Assignment) - Volunteers with medical credentials are needed to support medical stations along the course and at the finish. Location and actual shift (start/end) TBD based on assignment. Medical volunteers will be contacted to complete assignment.
