Sovereignty has always been a contested concept. In the post-war era, many young people were happier saying they were citizens of the world than a particular nation-state. So has Ukraine’s struggle for self-determination put national sovereignty back on the map? Having been locked down through Covid, what of individual sovereignty? The sovereignty issue raises many questions we are confronted with today. To unravel its history, meaning and today’s debates, WORLDwrite is hosting a filmed picnic with guest experts.
