About Us: Lifelong removes barriers to health with relentless compassion so that no one faces illness and injustice alone. Chicken Soup Brigade (CSB), the food program of Lifelong, provides medically tailored meals, bags of culturally specific groceries, and nutritional counseling and education to improve the health of individuals living with serious illnesses such as cancer, kidney disease, HIV, and other diet-related chronic health conditions. CSB's medically tailored meals are made on-site, from scratch, using whole food ingredients. Our grocery bags are nutritious and culturally relevant, containing enough items from each food group to create 7 meals. Our services are 100% free of charge to those that qualify. This role is 40 hours a week, M-F, and includes job training, a monthly stipend, free health insurance, an education award, and on-the-job industry experience. The term is from September 1st, 2022 through May 15th, 2023.

Member Duties: The WSC member will support our mission by preparing outgoing deliveries by organizing, staging, and labeling groceries and frozen meals according to assigned routes. Note: This involves heavy lifting and can be physically demanding. Assess bag contents while ensuring variety of items in the client's bags. Completing culturally specific grocery bags with appropriate produce and other fresh options. Pack and ship meals in dry ice to clients around the state. The member will also build relationships with new clients, welcoming them to our program and following up regularly. Assist the Nutrition staff by coordinating nutritional assessments and scheduling intakes.
