Volunteer Drivers provide essential transportation in Cass County, MN where there is no public transportation. Rides are provided for medical and nonmedical appointments, grocery shopping, local errands and other needs, primarily for older adults, people with disabilities or those living in poverty or managing medical issues. Faith in Action for Cass County provides scheduling support, ongoing training, recognition, liability insurance, mileage reimbursement and the opportunity to make a difference helping others in your community. Faith in Action is "Neighbors Helping Neighbors."

Description
Faith in Action is a local collaborative effort among faith communities, community agencies, donors and individuals with gifts of service, to provide non-medical, neighborly assistance to older adults, adults with disabilities, and others experiencing difficult circumstances. Our volunteers help others with transportation to medical appointments and errands, friendly visiting, household tasks and repairs, respite and caregiver support, ramps, meal delivery and more. We are a non-profit 501(c)3 charitable organization located in Hackensack, MN and serving people in need throughout Cass County. There are no charges for services; donations are accepted with gratitude. Income does not determine eligibility, yet we strive to assist those who lack other resources.

- Volunteers can choose when, how much and how far they wish to drive. Most ride requests are between 7 am and 5 pm Monday thru Friday; a few are weekends or evenings.
- Application includes orientation and background check. A current driver's license and auto insurance are required.
