Here at the Diabetes Foundation, we have two ways for you to lend your voices:

1.) Team Type 2:

This Diabetes Foundation team will promote A1c (blood sugar) screening and diabetes self-management through letters to your local representatives advocating for funding to support health and wellness programs. All correspondence will be provided by the Diabetes Foundation and easily accessible year-round to make your support easy and hugely impactful!

For Diabetes Awareness Month each November hang DF flyers up in your local town center, at stores and municipal administration buildings to drive people to recognize advertising that highlights the critical need to know your blood sugar status, and to take-action if necessary!

- Time commitment:One hour to send letters, and 3 hours in November to hang posters (supplied by the DF)

2.) Peer Advocacy:

The Diabetes Foundation’s Peer Advocacy Program allows you to promote awareness, education and resources-either in-person or through virtual campaigns-to family, friends, colleagues, community centers or businesses within your network.

The DF will provide tools, including an elevator speech, flyers and social media postings, that underscore the critical need to personally focus on health and blood-sugar management in support of "chronic wellness"!

In addition, direct individuals to the Diabetes Foundation’s free guidance, accredited virtual diabetes education, financial assistance and virtual social peer support groups (and other local programs) to help those you know and love to achieve optimal wellness.

- Time commitment: You choose!
