HOOPS for HOPE is a 3-on-3 benefit event held in Vancouver, WA. Formerly "Hoops on the River", the original founders have come back to bring a new improved version. Hoops for HOPE promises to be a fun-filled destination weekend event, held on the third weekend in August. Teams of all ages and skill levels, families, and sports enthusiasts are all welcome! The games will be played on half courts, spread throughout the parking lot on the NW side of the mall. Our mission is not only to make HOOPS for HOPEthe premier basketball tournament in Southwest Washington but to benefit low-income families of our community and to create a youth scholarship fund.

About Hope for the Good

Location:

PO Box 2980, Battleground, WA 98604, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower families, youth, and individuals to build their communities through service, healthy, and positive life choices. We envision a world full of people young and old making a difference through their commitment to service, positive attitude, and desire to play. To make healthy and lasting impacts on their communities, schools, neighborhoods, families, and themselves.

Description

H.O.P.E stands for 'help one person everyday'. Our non profit Hope for the Good aims to serve one another through helping others uplift our communities, our neighborhoods, schools, families and ourselves. We have multiple programs to help achieve our goal. The HOPEfront provides mentorships and connections to resources that are holding back individuals and their families from living a happy healthy life in our community. We also have a program called HOPE at Home. The biggest impact to creating healthy communities begins at home. That’s why HOPE at Home matches families and children with resources and mentors that help lead to healthy and happy opportunities to thrive and flourish-regardless of their challenges. Lastly, through HOPE for Tomorrow, The Steve Oberst Youth Scholarship program hopes to build a brighter tomorrow by encouraging youth to be active. To dream, to build on their dreams, and then put them into action to grow.
