Recruiting Organization: Arts on Division

Arts on Division seeks active board members for its organization. Arts on Division (AOD) is a 15 year old organization that creates art events and projects for the community and offers opportunities to artists.

Mission:

Arts On Division is a charitable organization within the meaning of Section(501)c3, dedicated to building community through the arts and arts education. Promoting the advancement, development and support of the visual, musical, physical and literary arts with the belief this will positively contribute to the quality of life for all residents and contribute to economic and community development in the Borough of Somerville, New Jersey and its surrounding areas.

At this time, we have need of folks with marketing, fundraising and community organizing skills. However, we welcome others who are willing to roll up their sleeves and help sustain and build a vibrant arts scene in Somerville.

Board members meet every 2 months and occasionally meet more often for specific projects and events. Most work is done remotely.

Board member will:

• Help with problem solving.
• Help identify and plan art programs and projects
• Identify donors and sponsors
• Help plan special events and fundraisers
• Promote AOD events and activities as agreed by the Board
• Support the organization by representing AOD in the community and with funders
• Suggest nominees for prospective Board and Committee members and participate in recruitment
• Add input to operations, marketing, and fundraising
• Attend community events on behalf of AOD
• Attend Board meetings
• Respect the ideas and opinions of all people involved with AOD
• Have a genuine respect and love of the arts
