Event Details

Oxfam Trailwalker is a community event that brings people together from all walks of life. Our dedicated volunteers create an incredible experience for our teams, helping them walk 100km in 40 hours to raise much needed funds to tackle poverty. Without volunteers this event would not take place which is why we need your help!

The event spans across nine locations from Gembrook Railway Station through to Lilydale Lake and finishes at the scenic Lysterfield Lakek. We have roles that suit everyone from Checkpoint Captains & Crew, to Trail Marshals & Markers, to our Allied Health volunteers.

What does it involve?

Oxfam Trailwalker has a volunteer role for everyone!

- Our Checkpoint Crew look after walkers as they rest along the 100km journey, making sure they have the support and supplies they need.

- Trail Markers & Sweep Teams are physically active roles, with volunteer teams walking sections of the trail either marking the trail or sweeping behind our last walkers.

- Allied Health volunteers support & treat walkers at chosen checkpoints. These roles are available to qualified Allied Health professionals and also second year (and above) students.

Perks?

- Giving back to the community and helping others in need around the world!

- Walk for Free at any Oxfam Trailwalker event in 2024!

- Oxfam Trailwalker volunteer gift

Mission Statement

Oxfam Australia's vision is a just world without poverty. We envision a world in which people can influence decisions which affect their lives, enjoy their rights, and assume their responsibilities as full citizens of a world in which all human beings are valued and treated equally. Today, there are 20 member organisations of the Oxfam International confederation and unlike other aid agencies, Oxfam is a secular, independent, non-government, not-for-profit organisation working in over 90 countries around the world. Through our network of other Oxfam agencies, we share educational and campaigning resources and cooperate in development projects and disaster relief.

Description

Oxfam Trailwalker is a life-changing experience and every step you take helps raise vital funds to create a future without the inequalities that keep people in poverty.
