Passion Spark seeks moms who have brought up a teenager, or are currently doing so, because MOMS know that one of the things that a teen, or a college student, wants most is to find a career that they love, that will earn them a good living, and that will lead to a happy and fulfilling life.

Passion Spark Retreat Workshops provide this outcome to teens, college students, and mid-career professionals.

Passion Spark seeks volunteer moms and dads to help us connect with other moms and dads for their teens. In addition to volunteers' ideas, please consider these, perhaps overlapping, ideas for organizations for outreach: PTA, ASB, school administrators; social media parent groups, such as facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn.

Having provided over 90,000 Student Career Exposures (SCEs) with Segue Career Mentors, since 2003, the online Passion Spark Retreat Workshops provides this to participants who are willing to truly participate. Based on a proven Socratic process, his is a process where YOU decide what's best for you. No else tells you.

To hear those who have "been there" see PassionSpark.org/testimonials. To see a brief and comprehensive overview about the Retreat Workshop, visit PassionSpark.org/leaders.

The reality of workplace is that 70% are dissatisfied 70%, per Gallup. When one connects with their passion, it's not this way. Dissatisfaction causes stress and research shows that stress impacts physical and mental health.

Passion Spark guides its participants, step by step, to introspect and connect with an internal knowing of their passion(s), select one, and then match it to a career, to a college major or educational program, to enable them to, as our summary offers, "do what you love AND earn a good living." Our communities would benefit meaningfully from an increased percentage of individuals during work they love.

Passion Spark has identified four population segments to serve:
1. High School students considering college or educational programs
2. College students and college alumni who have not yet found a fitting career or an internship
3. Mid-career workers, and professionals, who personally know about workplace dissatisfaction
4. Veterans who would value this support as they transition to civilian life and civilian careers

Mission Statement

To guide people to introspect deeply and connect with their passions, choose one, and then match it to a career for a fulfilling life where people self-empower themselves do what they love AND earn a good living.

Description

The history of Passion Spark began with Segue Career Guidance Program, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, which shares the same core mission as Segue, "To inform students today to support their career successes tomorrow." Now, under contract to Segue, Passion Spark engages students at a much deeper level and over a substantially greater time period. Specifically, Passion Spark's Retreat Workshops occur over 20 hours, whereas Segue's in-class career speakers presented for just 20 minutes. Passion Spark guides participants to "Do what you love and also earn a good living." It also serves a broader population of participants as described on this website's home page.

The impacts of the Passion Spark Retreat can be seen in the expressions of its participants at these links: http://www.PassionSpark.org/student-voices-video and http://PassionSpark.org/career-experts-and-students

Historically, Segue provided over 90,000 Student Career Exposures (SCEs; one SCE is one exposure to one career option by one live in-class speaker). Segue produced outstanding outcomes as measured by Harvard University and California Lutheran University, as well as by student and teacher testimonials. See the "History" at PassionSpark.org.

Segue was highly regarded in the community, as described in a 4-minute summary video by a Superior Court Judge, and others, as shown at this link: http://www.passionspark.org/segue-video
