Fundraising Manager

Join our team as Fundraising Manager and help build a financial foundation for the ASO so we can ensure people with Asperger’s/Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1 (ASD1) and their families continue to get the FREE help they need!


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, coach, motivate and support all volunteers within the assigned portfolio throughout their tenure to ensure they have the confidence and clarity to succeed in their roles;
  • Conduct evaluation of all activities delivered by the fundraising team. Identify and implement improvements as necessary. And report progress and successes to the leadership team;
  • Support the Fundraising Team’s delivery of fundraising activities (events/online giving), and develop and implement new and imaginative fundraising activities when necessary;
  • Collaborate with the fundraising team to identify income targets and encourage the team’s efforts to use various techniques to generate donations;
  • Increase funds by researching and targeting charitable trusts whose criteria match the ASO’s goals and activities;
  • Ensure the Fundraising Team’s focus on fundraising activities that are most appropriate and will have the highest chance of success;
  • Raise awareness of the ASO and its work at local and provincial levels;
  • Assign duties to members of the fundraising team as required, and follow up to ensure tasks are completed and timelines are met;
  • Facilitate regular fundraising team meetings, and encourage cross-communication and collaboration among all ASO volunteers.


What are we looking for from you:

  • A passionate leader with a demonstrated experience in managing and leading people;
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity, cope with limited resources, seize opportunities and think creatively;
  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Proven track record of delivering results, and the ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment while effectively managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities;
  • Ability to work towards goals and make sound decisions for the team;
  • Dedicated, organized, and have perseverance with the ability to spot and seize donation opportunities;
  • Experience with project management, fundraising and event planning will be an asset;
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Google Suite.

Technology Capabilities Requirement: Remote access ability. You will be required to use your own computer/laptop and may be given access to an ASO Gmail account that you will use to conduct all ASO - related correspondence. You must be familiar with online web-conferencing tools (e.g., Google Meet).


Time commitment: about 10 hours/per week (remote)

Screening Requirements: Resume, Interview, Reference Check

Duration: Ongoing for ideally a minimum of 12 month duration. A reference letter could be provided upon completion of a 6 month commitment.


The ASO is a small charity with a big heart! We don’t receive any government funding and rely on volunteers like YOU to carry out our mission. We operate virtually to direct our money to where it’s best used - providing help to those who need it! All of our services are offered FREE of charge.
