Meals on Wheels of Northern Illinois has a pet food delivery program, that brings pet food to seniors who are looking for help in feeding their pets. We understand the importance pets play in the lives of our seniors, but sometimes getting pet food can be expensive or physically impossible for the seniors to do on their own.

You can help brighten the lives of seniors and their pets by volunteering to deliver the pet food to seniors in the Steger/Crete Township area, with deliveries happening once every month. Deliveries are done during the day on a somewhat flexible schedule, depending on your availability and we do provide mileage reimbursement.

Volunteers should be comfortable interacting with seniors and their pets and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

All volunteers must submit an application and agree to a background check.

For more information or to apply, please contact us via VolunteerMatch, by phone at 224-500-2365 or email us at LReiter@cnnssa.org.

Thank you!
