ORGANIZATION: USS Midway Museum

Midway Docent

Part of the USS Midway's mission is to preserve the legacy of those who served, and there is no better way to accomplish that mission than by having veterans as volunteers. There are many different volunteer opportunities for veterans on the Midway that allow them to interact with people who visit from the area, from across the country, and from around the world. Although the Midway is a Naval aircraft carrier, veterans from any branch of the military are welcome. By sharing their experience, veterans assist the USS Midway Museum in preserving the history and traditions of the U.S. military. Guests who visit the museum get to see where sailors slept, ate, and worked as well as the aircraft and machinery of a carrier via an audio tour. But speaking with a veteran gives visitors a real sense of involvement. If you are a veteran who would like to be part of a team working to preserve military history as well as inspire, educate and entertain people from around the globe, please volunteer!
