The Trailnet Street Team aims to broaden the presence of Trailnet in the community through tabling and visibility opportunities. The Trailnet Street Team will educate the community about our work through meaningful conversations, smiles and sharing the joy of making our Region better for people to walk, bike and use public transit to get around. Volunteers will also help recruit others to get involved by joining our e-mail list, becoming members, or volunteering themselves.

Street Team volunteers will report to the Membership Coordinator.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to lead in fostering healthy, active and vibrant communities where walking, bicycling and the use of public transit are a way of life.

Description

For more than 32 years, Trailnet has brought together friends, organizations and people from many communities to create positive change in the St. Louis bi-state region by encouraging healthy, active living. Trailnet works to improve the quality of life for our families, neighbors, and communities. Our work and our partnerships directly impact local citizens, schools, businesses, communities, and nonprofit agencies throughout our region.

Trailnet pursues it's mission through community planning, advocacy, education and encouragement programs. We work with municipalities and neighborhood partners to identify and implement solutions to slow traffic and ensure streets are safe for all. We play a leading role in organizing a state-wide effort to advocate for legislation to ban distracted driving. We push for infrastructure improvements that protect people on bikes, walking or using mobility devices. We teach adults and kids practical bike skills.

Trailnet also hosts biking events for diverse groups of people looking to lead healthier and more active lives. Our rides include Trailnet Classics and Community Rides. The Trailnet Classics are unique, supported, and community-focused multi-distance bike rides for people of all comfort levels. Trailnet Community Rides are your chance to explore the region and connect with the stories and history that formed our community.
