This is such a fun volunteer opportunity and the volunteer will get much more from this opporutnity than you give!! Individuals must be very familiar with computer usage and willing to teach older or disabled adults in classroom setting. Enthusiasm and patience necessary. Six students per class. Classes 2 days per week - either Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday. Choice of mornings, afternoons or evenings. Curriculum designed by SeniorNet National. We offer services and enrichment for older and/or disabled adults living in or closeby Kernersville, NC - Offering: Transportation (medical), Friendly Calls, In-Home Visitation, Personal Shopper (grocery/pharmacy errands), Handypersons (minor repairs), Equipment Loan, Pastoral Counseling (not licensed), Medicare/SHIIP Counseling, Legal Aide Counseling, Full-time Senior Enrichment Center, Caregiver Support Group, Computer Learning Center (computer and electronic device assistance), Income Tax Prep Program (Feb-Apr annually), Information and Referrals, and Advocacy Programs.
