Recruiting Organization: CC English

CC English is an innovative way to connect volunteer English teachers with students via online, one-on-one English classes using the Confidence and Connections curriculum developed by the non-profit, Intercambio Uniting Communities.

We are looking for volunteers to teach online classes to adult English language learners for 90-minute sessions twice (2x) a week for at least 12-14 weeks. Our goal is to connect English speakers wanting to make a difference with community members aspiring to learn English, regardless of location or other barriers of in-person classes.

What we offer...

CC English provides the unique opportunity to volunteer online while building a cross-cultural relationship.

With a curriculum specifically designed for volunteer teachers, we make teaching English enjoyable and accessible, even if you have no prior teaching experience. You will also learn about your student and their culture, and share your own!

Our volunteers gain new experience and knowledge through access to a variety of training, tools, and teaching resources. There are also many opportunities to connect, network, and share experiences with other volunteer teachers.

Our curriculum, Confidence and Connections, is best delivered twice (2x) per week, in 90-minute-long sessions, with at least one day in between.

What you DON’T need...

You don’t need to speak any other language besides English.

You don’t need prior teaching experience.

What you DO need...

Availability to meet with your student online twice a week and teach English using our Confidence and Connections books

Patience, enthusiasm, dedication, friendliness, and an encouraging attitude

A desire to learn about your student and continue developing your teaching skills

Basic computer skills (use Zoom, PDFs, navigate websites, etc)

You must be at least 18 years old to volunteer

CC English is a program by Intercambio Uniting Communities (Intercambio. org). Our mission is to bring adult English language learners and community volunteers together in online classes and gatherings to build skills, confidence, and life-changing connections.
