Want to start making a difference in someone else's life? Become a Patient Support Volunteer for the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation. Our Volunteers brighten up a cancer patient’s day by providing non-medical support to them while they are undergoing treatment. In the infusion area, volunteers offer a snack or beverage to a patient or their guest, hand out warm blankets, share reading material, talk and listen, wipe down the infusion chairs and help to keep the area tidy. Volunteers will also help the clinic staff with clerical work when needed.
Ideal candidates may be a retiree, cancer survivor or a caregiver of someone with cancer. We would also consider a college student with an interest in oncology, nursing or medicine. Available shifts are Monday-Wednesday 9am-3pm. The minimum time commitment is 3 hours per week for at least six months.
*Face masks and vaccine policy in place
