As a member of the board of directors, your commitment to the community is centered on being the governing voice of our organization. It allows communities to develop comprehensive, holistic solutions for families facing homelessness. Families come to us in crisis; our approach of coordinated compassion helps them rebuild their lives with new skills and ongoing support.

Through our nonprofit, families with children will stay together. They will be offered community programs and be involved with initiatives that will provide financial stability and sustainable development. WE offer shelter, diversion, and prevention. Case management is a part of our wraparound service.

As a board member, you help guide the organization.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to help families with children experiencing homelessness and low-income families with children achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. Our vision is a nation in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.

Description

Family Promise is a National Organization with over 200 local Affiliates. Family Promise is a 4- Star Charity Navigator Organization. Through Candid, we have a gold transparency seal.

We use an interfaith, community-based approach to offering caring assistance and connecting wrap-around services to families experiencing homelessness through a rotational model.

Our graduate success rate is 88% of families sheltered find housing (we track up to 2 years); we have over 200 K volunteers nationwide.
We offer prevention (financial stabilization and literacy); emergency shelter and diversion. Our case management program provides graduate support services and we believe in community.

Family Promise understands the needs of vulnerable families. So, we offer innovative programs - such as tenancy preparation, financial literacy, and virtual career pathway training - to address them in a cost-effective, targeted approach.
