Let's do something about the crisis of social isolation and loneliness in the elderly! Become a moderator of group phone calls for seniors. Volunteers should have good hosting skills, have topics they can talk about and enjoy spending time with seniors. Those who join the groups are isolated because of pandemic concerns, mobility limitations or other circumstances. Participants are predominantly older Black women living in public housing in Brooklyn who benefit from opportunities to socialize from home.

We've put on groups about cooking, doing chair yoga, apartment gardening, making arts and crafts, Black history, doing crochet, art appreciation, Bible study, telling stories, and listening to gospel, r&b and Latin jazz. What kind of skills can you bring to your group?
