A 53-year-old woman with ALS would love some help with yard work and weeding, ideally every other week for a couple of hours at a time. She "used to be the household gardener and misses it deeply." Scheduling can be flexible in terms of what works for the volunteer.

Description

What is ALS?

ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) is a degenerative disease of the central nervous system. ALS results in the progressive weakness of voluntary muscles which often leads to total paralysis. There is no known cause or cure for ALS. People with ALS typically live between two and five years after being diagnosed.

How does The ALS Association help?

We fulfill our mission by offering programs, services, and equipment free of charge to anyone affected by ALS residing in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
