As the Development Coordinator VISTA member at Peace at Home Family Shelter, you will help end poverty by improving Peace at Home’s capacity to provide life-saving shelter and supportive services to victims of domestic violence fleeing abuse and their children. Each year, Peace at Home works with over 1,000 individuals in our community, providing emergency shelter, crisis hotline, legal representation, housing assistance, counseling services, support groups, and children’s programs to help people flee domestic violence and build new, stable lives. You will help ensure the sustainability of Peace at Home to deliver these vital community services by developing funding for the programs. Specifically, your work will focus on leading and evaluating online fundraising efforts, special events (online or in-person), and grantwriting. You will also collaborate with Peace at Home staff and other VISTA members to identify funding needs and communicate with supporters in the community about the impact of their gifts. This VISTA will have the opportunity to work with two Certified Fund Raising Executives (CFREs) on staff and network with other nonprofits and community partners. A great opportunity for a strong communicator interested in fundraising, event planning, and social justice.
The applicant should hold a 4-year degree in a related field or have 4 years’ experience in a similar field of work. Applicants should be able to successfully work independently, be organized, have strong writing skills, and have a passion for helping survivors of domestic violence.
