Talented teens (between the ages of 12-18) with experience or interest in cheerleading is needed to serve as a teen ambassador for the team from August 2022 to June 2023.
As of this writing, the team is expected to practice in Downtown Newark from 1pm to 4pm on Saturdays. We anticipate that any events/tournaments would also be held on Saturdays. The first day is Saturday, August 27th.
The team will be trained to participate in local and regional competitions and tournaments. You will be part of the team and will compete and perform.
Ambassadors are responsible for: (a) helping us recruit other cheerleaders (girls ages 11 to 18); (b) helping the coaches with any administrative tasks; (c) setting up and breaking down the practice areas; (d) leading warm-ups and drills; (e) helping struggling cheerleaders; (f) "co-coaching" younger cheerleaders (g) setting up and leading online practice review sessions; and (h) raising money and visibility for the team. Ambassadors are who we consider "co-captains".
SoulPhamm will raise the money to pay for any uniforms that the team might need during the season. The organization will also cover the cost for you to participate in tournaments, or any other expenses that the regular cheerleaders will be asked to pay. The program will begin in August. You can use the opportunity for community service hours as needed.
Interested candidates are asked to share a little about their athletic/cheerleading experience when they respond to this ad. No phone calls please. We will only accept two young people for this role who should be entering eighth grade, or any grade in high school in September.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of young people by providing unique artistic and athletic experiences and performances, and to assist them in achieving the highest standards of professionalism through the development of discipline, skill, confidence, cooperation, leadership, responsibility and character.
Description
Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.
SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
