Provide companionship and socialization to Hospice Patients, Read to them, Play music, tell jokes, work puzzles, play games, discuss hobbies and interest, current events, accompany patient outside if appropriate, -- no hands on care, monitor and report progress to hospice team. The importance of our Volunteers to the hospice program cannot be overstated. Without you we could provide neither the kinds nor the scope of services that are so urgently needed to enhance the quality of the lives of our patients and their families.
In addition, since hospice has developed in response to a community need, it is appropriate and necessary that members of the community share in and contribute to that growth. Volunteers serve as a link between hospice and the community for mutual support and information sharing.
