ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Biscayne National Park has an incredible opportunity for an RV situation for winter 2022-2023. We have an RV site available in exchange for a 32hr/week/per person commitment. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about working hard and connecting with the public on a variety of marine and National Park Service topics. A majority of the volunteer's time will be spent with the Division of Interpretation, working at the front desk, leading programs, and assisting with the Environmental Education programming. Other tasks may include assisting other park divisions to include Maintenance, Resource Management, and Administration as needs and skills provide. This is NOT a Campground Host position. We are looking for individuals who work well on a team, who are kind and caring, and who place a high value on professionalism and visitor services.

Volunteers for this position are required to have their own RV/van and it must be less than 35' in length, width should be less than 15'. There will be one other RV/van in the area with you. (Note: There may be ongoing construction during the winter season. The RV parking area is also a staging place for the contractors. They will not work after hours and generally not on weekends but RV cooperation and patience will be vital.) Couple or Singles welcome. Must be over the age of 18. Bilingual (Spanish/English) helpful but not required. Boating/marine biology experience helpful but not required. Excellent customer service skills are a must. Weekends, holidays, and nights all required. Preference will be given to RVs who can commit to a full November-April season. The work week generally consists of four consecutive eight hour days. Weather can range from HOT to cool. Bugs can range from AWFUL to nonexistent.

As Covid continues to be a concern, we ask that volunteers continue to be flexible with park operations and staffing requirements. Biscayne is actively ensuring the safety of all park staff and volunteers. Park volunteers will be required to follow all current Covid guidelines and safety precautions.
