We are looking for quality people to love on and spoil our hospice patients!
We are in two facilities in Branson - Point Lookout and Shepherd of the Hills nursing homes (about 5 minutes from each other). The biggest need right now is at Point Lookout, and I'd love to talk with several of you to not let another day go by with these residents needing our love and attention.
Patients must be seen a minimum of two times a month and a minimum of 4 hours total each month. (Medicare rules.) We do assign multiple patients to each volunteer to achieve this.
You would do this on your time, however it fits into your life. The Volunteer Coordinator does not schedule volunteers.
Mileage IS paid!
Must be able to pass background checks.
TB test is done twice for all new volunteers (at our Ozark office).
Drug screen is mandatory.
Reference checks are done.
Current driver's license and current auto insurance required.
"New hire" paperwork and a short orientation is also required.
Then you are off to adopt and spoil these people that feel like the world has forgotten them!
We do this "because you might be the last good thing to happen in a person's life."
And we want to be a joy germ and let that contagious light shine and give our elderly something to look forward to each day!
Masks are required in all facilities. Covid vax is not required.

Description
Preferred Hospice is a Missouri-based company comprised of a multidisciplinary team of Healthcare workers who specialize in end-of-life care. Among the senior team are Physician and Nurses who together bring over 50 years of Healthcare experience. We serve patients within an hour radius of our home office in Ozark Missouri.
Volunteers are essential to the Preferred Hospice Team. Direct Patient Volunteers provide companionship to patients while offering emotional support and comfort. Direct Patient Volunteers may also provide respite and assistance to patient caregivers. Office and Administrative Volunteers assist the office staff with many things from mail outs to data entry. Training, education, and mileage reimbursement is provided.
