We're looking for volunteer House Managers! Part time: less than 5 hrs/week. Be a part of making positive change in our community! The homes for formerly homeless men and women operated by Kitsap Homes of Compassion are overseen by House Managers, one manager assigned to each house. The House Manager reports directly to the KHOC Program Manager. You will hold a house meeting once a week (may switch to twice a month if house is stable) at a time that convenient for the volunteer. Responding to emergency phone calls or text may include evening or weekend hours. House managers will c ollaborate with mental health, chemical dependency, homeless and housing service providers, social service, healthcare and others. The position requires you use tact, discretion, respect and courtesy to gain the cooperation of others and establish and maintain effective working relationship s with rapport with co-workers, volunteers, other programs, representatives of other agencies and businesses, and diverse members of the public. A history of participating in multi-disciplinary team and collaborative projects preferred.

Description
Kitsap Homes of Compassion (KHOC) uses existing resources to provide safe, affordable, permanent supportive housing and connections to services for people in difficult situations (poverty, domestic abuse, etc), often with disabilities, experiencing homelessness and/or housing insecurity. The KHOC aims to decrease and eventually eliminate the number of unhoused people in Kitsap County, Washington. KHOC currently houses people in housing programs in 25 homes throughout the county serving mothers and children, men, women, veterans, mature and young adults.
