ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Cascades Region

Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. In fact, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.

The Cascades Region holds blood drives all around our community at local businesses, community centers, places of worship, and educational institutions. It is crucial to have volunteer support to ensure the drives function efficiently and donors are given an experience that encourages them to return and give the gift of life.

To ensure the Red Cross can meet the blood needs of our region and nationally, it is crucial to provide a stellar experience for our blood donors. The Donor Ambassador is the first line of recognition for our donors and helps by ensuring they are informed of the process and thanked for their support.

Volunteers in the Donor Ambassador Position will positively and professionally represent the Red Cross by providing excellent customer service to enhance the blood donor experience.

*All In-Person Red Cross Volunteer roles will require proof of COVID-19 Vaccination*

Volunteer Responsibilities include:
Manage donor experience by assisting staff with initial intake, facilitating donor flow, scheduling future appointments, and supporting monitoring of donor recovery after blood donation.

Time commitment required:
One shift (4-6 hours) per month, over 6 months.
*Weekday volunteers highly needed
