A private farm in New Hopeis partnering with BCOC to grow and donate 10,000 lbs of produce this summer. This is a pilot project, and we're looking for volunteers in the community to help. This is an ongoing opportunity from May until September, and is a unique opportunity to create food for neighbors in need! Plus, you can lend your expertise, or learn from the team who can help advance your gardening skills. But- no experience is necessary! If you’ve never planted a tomato in your life, now could be the time! So add your name to be one of the first to volunteer for this wonderful partnership with a local farm, that will provide food to our neighbors in need!

Mission Statement

To help low-income people in Bucks County achieve and maintain economic self-sufficiency.

Description

Bucks County Opportunity Council, Inc. is a non-profit Community Action Agency established in 1965. Our mission is to help low-income people in Bucks County achieve and maintain economic self-sufficiency. We provide a broad range of self-sufficiency, emergency and preventative, free tax preparation, financial literacy and asset development, food assistance and weatherization services. Our services are based on the principle that empowering people with the education, training, resources and skills necessary to permanently leave poverty is far more beneficial than helping them cope in poverty. We work closely with human services organizations, faith-based organizations and others to address local needs and issues affecting low-income individuals and families.
