ORGANIZATION: Idealist.org

Recruiting Organization: Centro Romero

Centro Romero is a community-based organization serving the refuge/immigrant population in northeast Chicago. Rooted in the deep commitment to social justice exemplified by the eponymous Saint Oscar Romero, we seek to improve the lives and livelihoods of the communities we serve in a number of ways, including through Adult Education. We are in need of volunteers to help tutor and teach adult students who are learning English. Hours are flexible and we will work around your schedule. This is a great way to make a difference in the northeast Chicago community while practicing your Spanish. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and walks of life, but you must be 16 or older or older and an Illinois Resident in order to volunteer.
