ORGANIZATION: Union Station Homeless Services

Help us combat the issue of food insecurity that heavily impacts our community members.

Union Station Homeless Services is looking for volunteers to provide "shelf stable" kits for our shelter residents. This new program allow Union Station to provide food items that are preservable and ready to eat for our residents and community members in need. These kits can include, but are not limited to:

  • Jerky
  • Canned soup with pop tops
  • Tuna pouches
  • Cookies/Candy
  • Cracker packs
  • Dried Fruit
  • Packs of nuts/seeds
  • Mints
  • Gatorade
  • Water
  • Hand Wipes
  • Cards of encouragement
  • Other preservable/ready to eat food items

We kindly request kits to include 7-10 items, however we are grateful for whatever you are able to contribute. We accept Shelf Stable Kit donations to our Adult Center any day of the week between 8:00am - 2:30pm.

Description

We need volunteers to help support our kitchen staff with cooking, serving, and cleaning. Volunteers are integral to providing much needed donation items to our clients.
