What’s Involved?

  • Create a Loving Home : Provide a safe environment for a puppy (the only dog under 12 months in your home).

  • Le arn and Grow: Teach essential puppy manners and skills with our support and resources , including a puppy class!

  • Stay Connected: Work closely with us to track the puppy’s progress and participate in regular puppy classes.

  • Ensure W ellness: Provide food, veterinary care and age -appropriate socialization.

  • Keep Active: Supervise their activities and use a leash . Consider bringing your puppy to work , if permitted .

  • Celebrate the Journey: C elebrate the incredible journey together , as the pupp y return s to our training center and starts professional service dog training .

There are approximately 64 million Americans living with a disability. Canine Companions is a national non-profit organization that provides expertly trained service dogs and a lifetime of follow-up services - completely free of charge - to children, adults and veterans with disabilities so they can lead lives with greater independence.
