LATINA MENTORS NEEDED!!
The New York State Mentoring Program (NYSMP) has launched the Latina Mentoring Initiative (LMI). The goal of the initiative is to level the playing field for young Latinas and to create a community where success looks like our youth. The unique focus of this initiative will be to connect Latina mentors with Latina mentees to empower and support them by promoting self-advocacy, building soft skills and confidence, and nurturing aspirations.
LMI is partnering with City Poly Technic HS in Brooklyn to support a Site-Based Mentoring model. Latina mentors will be matched with one Latina mentee for the academic year. They will meet every other Tuesday from 4pm-5:30pm at City Poly Technic HS. Sessions are supported by a Site Coordinator who plans activities based on the LMI themes for the month.
