About

Asian Women’s Home, the domestic violence and human trafficking program at Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) is seeking volunteers hotline counselors for the 24-hour crisis hotline. Help is needed in a number of ways including:

  • Handle our 24-hour crisis hotline
  • Provide Referrals to callers
  • Conduct Intakes
  • Provide EMOTIONAL and PEER Support

The most needed help is during the weekdays from Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Support during the evenings and weekends is also appreciated.

Our shelter provides a safe haven creating pathways out of domestic violence, human trafficking, and homelessness toward safe and stable lives by offering emergency shelter, housing, life changing support services and community advocacy. We are seeking volunteer help for 4 - 10 hours a week to support with hotline calls, shelter operations, and providing general assistance to our clients.

**Note: Due to the nature of our program and the population, volunteer applicants who are interested in working directly with our clients must meet the following requirements:

  • Completion of the California State-mandated 40-hour Domestic Violence Advocacy Training
  • Pass the Live Scan Fingerprinting Background Check
  • Submit a negative TB test result
