The purpose of the Bilingual Event Ambassador is to ensure Spanish-speaking patients and families are able to comfortably and fully engage at patient parties, activities, and events.

The Bilingual Event Ambassador volunteer will:

1. Help set up events.
2. Make copies of event invitations, as needed. Distribute invitations, as needed.
3. Welcome and assist patients and families at events whether English or Spanish-speaking.
4. Seek out our Spanish-speaking patients and families to see if assistance is needed; explain activities available to them. Encourage participation.
5. Seek help from Child Life staff to fulfill needs expressed by Spanish-speaking families.
6. Help clean up after events.

This volunteer placement reports to the Community Program Coordinator.

COVID vaccination is required for all volunteers.

1 Shift

  • morning / 09:00 AM to 11:45 AM
    Most shifts are in the morning but the weekday varies. No evenings or weekends. Parties and events occur an average of 3 times a month.

  • Shifts are 9am/9:30am to 12pm, weekdays.
  • Fluent in spoken Spanish and English. Comfortable standing for an extended period. Comfortable meeting new people. COVID vaccination required for all volunteers.
