The DG Sentinel will be heavily supported by Dweebs Global, a successful free mentorship nonprofit operating in over 35 countries, with on-the-ground teams in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, India, Colombia, and the United States.

We are looking for an experienced, skilled and passionate individual to join us as a UX/UI Lead with The Sentinel.

This position will be responsible for:

• Responsible for delivering an awesome user experience.
• Gathering and evaluating user requirements
• Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
• Designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets
• Work with the broader team to understand vision and the needs; collaborate with the broader engineering team to deliver an awesome user experience.
• The UI/UX Designer will be responsible for the front-end development of the website. Design, test and implement layouts for DG Sentinel.
• Maintain back-end folder and element structure best practices for website content tree
• Page creation and content maintenance of websites
• Manage team of [volunteer] resources for day-to-day content population and maintenance of websites.
• Empowering the teams and onboarding new team members

This role will report to the CTO and be responsible for UI/UX Design volunteers.

We are looking for a passionate and reliable individual who has experience in the following:

• Proven working experience in UX/UI Design
• Knowledge of wireframe tools
• The ideal candidate is familiar with brand guides, typography, color theory/strategy, target audiences, journey maps, page flow, responsive and adaptive design, as well as building complete website mockups
• Thorough Knowledge of UX/UI design principles
• Experience with Wordpress
• Experience with all rich content - video, and images.
• Experienced with Git
• Creating a positive culture towards volunteer engagement
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• High level communications skills in English and ability to communicate with people globally
• Reliability and efficiency

6 - 10 hours per week. Many of our current team work full-time and volunteer in the evenings.
