We need YOU to join us at Curtis Park on Snoqualmie Ridge to save the forest from invasive species! We will be removing Himalayan blackberries and herb robert (aka Stinky Bob). The forest behind Curtis Park is a wonderful asset to the community but the forested areas are being threatened by newly established aggressive weeds, and it is necessary to remove these before planting any new native trees and shrubs.

Tools, gloves, and instructions provided.

Green Snoqualmie Partnership Vision: A city with healthy forests that provide high-value habitat for wildlife and access for residents and visitors to experience nature, supported by an aware and engaged community that is working together to restore and care for these lands.

About Forterra

Location:

Mission Statement

Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.

Description

Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
