Chickasaw National Recreation Area is an Oklahoma Oasis. Springs, streams, lakes - whatever its form, water is the attraction at Chickasaw National Recreation Area: recreational fishing, hiking, water sports and so much more. If volunteering in a robust and lively area known for its natural springs, beautiful lakeside views, and abundant wildlife sounds appealing, then apply now! Postions are filled but back-up applications are still being accepted.


Chickasaw National Recreation Area, nestled in the valley of the Arbuckle Mountains in Sulphur, Oklahoma, has openings for volunteer Campground Host positions at 7 different campgrounds. We ask that volunteers be available for three consecutive months minimum and work at least 32 hours per week, which will include Saturday & Sunday. Camp Host duties include: helping visitors check in to their campsites, talking to visitors about local points of interest, informing visitors of campground/park regulations, and performing general cleanup around the campground.


Camp Hosts will not be required to handle any law enforcement issues. All violations can be reported to the district office and law enforcement will be contacted.


The campground season is from May 1st to Oct 1st in seasonal campgrounds; three campgrounds are open year around.


Local staff will provide training and support in duties. Hosts perform duties independently without direct supervision. An RV pad with hookups will be provided. We are looking for hosts who have strong communication skills, are customer service-oriented and love being in a beautiful area!


RV’s or Camp Trailers are mandatory. Start and end dates are flexible. Minimum commitment of three months required.
