Public Health Connected is looking for new board members! PHC is all about strengthening the
community of public health professionals by providing them with resources that promote resilience and
offering platforms and opportunities to connect with each other, so that they are empowered to face the
challenges of working in public health. It is a relatively new non-profit organization (formed during the
COVID-19 pandemic by an epidemiologist) and is forming a startup board. This will be a group of
high-energy, creative, passionate, and productive people to champion PHC and its mission.

We are looking to fill the following roles:

1. The Board Champion and Chair is a powerhouse talent who will:
○ Bring 10+ years of experience in nonprofit management;
○ Mentor the Founder/Interim Executive Director to develop the organization;
○ Provide access to wide and deep networks to tap into for advice and resources;
○ Show a track record of successful nonprofit development.

2. The Fundraising Champion and Vice Chair is a go-getter who will:
○ Bring a track record of successful fundraising campaigns;
○ Be excited to lead the board to raise $50,000-$150,000 per year (dependent on the
organizational growth stage);
○ Employ a variety of fundraising strategies, initially focusing on crowdfunding, corporate
sponsorships, and program revenues.

3. The Strategic Partnerships Champion is a natural networker who will:
○ Be able to develop strong partnerships with public and private public health
organizations through existing relationships in their network;
○ Be personable, friendly, and articulate;
○ Have several years of experience as a partnerships manager, engagement director, or
something related.

4. The Secretary is a skilled communicator and organizational pro who will:
○ Bring a driven, self-starter attitude and strong project management skills;
○ Enjoy immersing themselves in the nitty gritty details of nonprofit policies and
procedures;
○ Bring knowledge and experience with board administration and policies;
○ Be unafraid to be persistent in getting busy people to schedule meetings and complete
tasks.

5. The Treasurer is a spreadsheet master who will:
○ Bring a background in accounting and working with nonprofits;
○ Prepare financial reports and set up financial accounting systems;
○ Hold the organization responsible for paying its bills.

PHC is committed to building a board that reflects the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. All board
members should also have a deep commitment to these values. All board members should be
tech-savvy and skilled with virtual collaboration tools (email, Google Suite, Zoom/video conferencing,
Asana, etc). This will be a working board and the anticipated time commitment is 1-3 hours/week (including monthly board meetings, check-ins with the Founder, emails, etc), depending on the season and events. New board members will serve 1-3 year terms and sign a board
member agreement that outlines their responsibilities to the organization, as well as the organization's
responsibilities to them.

PHC is an innovative, dynamic organization with tremendous potential. Joining the new board is a great
opportunity to collaborate with other passionate professionals to push the organization forward. Join us!

Interested individuals can reply through this VolunteerMatch.com opportunity, or send their resumes or description of their background directly to Dr. Kristi McClamroch at kristimcclamroch@publichealthconnected.org.
