About the role

The Chapter Outings Chair works with chapter and group leadership to support our outings program across the state. This will include building out a new state-wide Outings Committee, and leading this team in the development and management of the Washington Chapter’ s Outings Program.

Sierra Club Outings Program

The Sierra Club's members and supporters are more than 3.8 million of your friends and neighbors. Inspired by nature, we work together to protect our communities and the planet. Part of this work includes leading others in outdoor excursions to help foster a connection between people and their environment, as well as between one another. Our local Outings volunteers lead a range of outings that are as diverse as their interests, from picnics, day hikes, peak scrambles, community building, bicycling, skiing, paddling, bird-watching, conservation-oriented activities, and forays into the remaining natural areas of our major cities.
