Open Door Legal is an innovative nonprofit addressing poverty in real-time by building universal access to legal representation starting in San Francisco's low-income communities of color.
We moved into our office in the Excelsior district of San Francisco three months before the pandemic hit our communities. The state of the backyard of the office was in disrepair and we had initially anticipated redoing it to make it more available for staff to be outside and allow for open-air meetings. However, due to the pandemic, these plans have been held off until now!
We are looking for a landscaper or gardener to help make this wild outdoor space into a beautiful and peaceful open-air respite for our hard-working staff and our incredibly resilient clients.
Some potential projects for this space include:
- Creating a plan to block direct sunlight with a pergola or something similar.
- Creating a plan to minimize wind
- Identifying new, drought-safe, non-invasive plants
- Creating an area for 3-4 small tables and chairs
