The Family Support Phone Volunteer would be assisting the Family Support Navigation team at Family Futures in making initial contact with families who are referred or sign up for our largest program, Connections!

Position Details:

  • Up to 4-6 hours per week during business hours
  • Texts, calls, and emails to families in Kent County
  • Contacting parents who sign up for the Connections program to complete intake to the program
  • Asking parents questions related to social determinants of health needs, demographic information, and any additional family support
  • Strengths Based approach / Motivational interviewing
  • Option of in-person or virtual

Preferred experience:

  • Some college in a human service-related field (psychology, social work, family studies) OR have experience engaging with parents of young children
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
  • Comfortable talking on the phone
  • Strong writing skills

Family Futures, recently known as the Child and Family Resource Council, focuses on programs and services that promote development, health, and safety for children and their families. Utilizing primary stategies of education, coordination and advocacy, Family Futures uses a variety of ways to accomplish its mission. Some of these include: Healthy Start & Connections Programs, RAVE (Resources Against Violent Encounters), and Community Education including the following: Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention, Mandated Reporter Training and the Family Resource Guide.
