Our residents need to have a little fun! We would love to have some music and movement! Some residents will be able to dance and others will need to stick with chair dancing. Looking for someone who is energetic and has experience with engaging with seniors who can provide upbeat music.
We are an independent living senior housing campus with two buildings. This could be held inside or outside, weather depending. Preferably with some dance experience to guide those of us with no dance skills. Looking to make this an active, fun, social experience. The average age of our residents is 74.
Expected class size could be anywhere from 5 to 20 in attendance. Active dance time could be anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. This would be up to the volunteer.
National Church Residences still has a mask mandate for indoor activities. However we have some hearing impaired residents that read lips. Most speakers are asked to remove masks but maintain six feet of distance. Also Covid vaccination proof required.
This would be great for someone who could spare some time once or twice a month.
Dance students or retired activity personnel would be great for this.

Description
In 1961, the Reverend John R. Glenn and four Ohio Presbyterian churches formed National Church Residences out of a Christian commitment to serve older adults' housing, social, and human needs. Today, our success stands on that spiritual foundation.
Bristol Village in Waverly, Ohio, was National Church Residences' first housing community, and has grown to meet a full range of lifestyle needs, including independent living in more than 400 individual homes, supportive services in an 82-unit apartment complex, a 25-unit assisted living facility, and skilled nursing care in a 50-unit convalescent center. In 2001, Bristol Gardens, a 12-unit Alzheimer's care retreat, was added to the campus.
The year 2011 marked our 50th anniversary since the purchase of our flagship community in 1961. For more than 50 years, National Church Residences has seen explosive growth and forged dramatic inroads for seniors and families in need of safe, affordable, comfortable housing.
