The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international think-tank supporting and advocating the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change.

We are looking for a passionate professional who takes a strategic approach to their work, builds professional relationships with stakeholders, and generates opportunities for the organisation development. The Principal Executive Officer will support the the Company Secretary and the wider work of the Governance Support Bureau, and the Director-General. The postholder will have significant responsibility within the team, including for management of workflows, coaching and mentoring of more junior colleagues, and working closely with senior colleagues across the BCI.

You responsibilities will include:

· To provide regular administrative support for the Director-General and to support the effective governance of the BCI;

· To assist the Governance Support Bureau in developing the governance structure and processes of the BCI;

· To assist in the BCI membership development;

· To support with general resource management duties;

· To mentor and, where appropriate, have oversight of junior volunteers and to provide leading support to the Company Secretary in the management of team workflows.To attend blockchain-related activities in the name of BCI; and,

· To support during conferences and events the Director-General and other relevant members of the BCI.

Skills & Abilities

· Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships, work flexibly across professional and operational boundaries, and communicate professionally and diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders at all levels;

· Excellent English writing;

· Close attention to detail; and,

· Excellent organisational skills and ability to balance competing demands under pressure.


General & Specialist Knowledge

· Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office; and,

· Strong depth of knowledge on topics central to the BCI such as climate change, climate finance and blockchain technology preferred.

Education & Training

· A relevant degree or training in Business, Climate Change, Environmental Science, or Finance preferred;

· Demonstrable interest in corporate governance, including a qualification in corporate governance or company secretarial work, would be preferred.


Relevant Experience

· Proven ability in organisation/business administration, including demonstrable experience in leading independently on projects and / or line or team management;

· Demonstrable experience in supporting committees or Boards, or in working with senior stakeholders, would be preferred;

· Experience of working in a target driven role;

· Proven ability to co-ordinate and develop strategies in environment-related organisation(s);

· Experience of building constructive relationships with stakeholders; and,

· Experience of working independently and with teams to drive forward projects using own initiative.
