Bone Bash Host Committee Member Role Description

Committee Overview
The Arthritis Foundation's Bone Bash is a costume-themed gala that honors arthritis warriors, celebrates volunteer leaders, raises awareness about the leading cause of disability in adults, and raises funds to support our mission of ending arthritis.

The Host Committee is an integral part of making Bone Bash a success. The event provides critical operating funds for the Arthritis Foundation and brings together a diverse group of people to celebrate the work that AF does to find a cure for arthritis.

Committee members drive the success of the event through their own personal contributions as well as
the identification and solicitation of sponsorship support. The Arthritis Foundation aims to achieve 100% philanthropic participation from Committee members.

Committee Structure and Meetings
The Committee is composed of current and former Louisiana Leadership Board members, corporate and foundation partners, civic leaders, staff members, volunteers, and other members of the community. Committee meeting tentativeschedule:

• July 11
• August 8
• September 12 & 26
• October 3 & 10
• October 15 is the tentative date of the Bone Bash in Baton Rouge

• Participate in Committee meetings
• Assist in the identification and recruitment of volunteers, as needed
• Follow a timeline and ensure tasks are completed on time
• Understand and support the mission of the Arthritis Foundation

• Commit to attending and supporting the Gala at a sponsorship level that is personally meaningful
• Identify and recruit sponsors
• Participate in friend-raising to fill the room (table sales and individual ticket sales)
• Solicit donations for the silent and live auctions
• Partner with AF staff in developing and executing individualized stewardship strategies for top donors and prospects attending the Gala
• Ensure that all Gala attendees are appropriately thanked for their support

• Advocate for the Arthritis Foundation, arthritis warriors and the Bone Bash in the community
• Provide input on Bone Bash communications strategies and materials
• Utilize social media channels to promote the event
• Utilize employer communication networks if possible
