Position Summary:

The Development Assistant will report to the Director of Philanthropy and work closely with a small team to shape and implement the Clinic's fundraising strategies. The Development Assistant will have exposure to all development efforts, as well as the ability to propose special projects to enhance their professional development while strengthening the Clinic's impact and reach.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Assist in managing our individual donor program.
  • Draft and send personalized thank-you letters, emails, and acknowledgments to donors.
  • Support the planning and exectution of donor appreciation events and campaigns.
  • Assist in researching potential individual donors.
  • Help with mailings, including donor appeals; newsletters, and event invitations.
  • Assist with event planning and coordination for fundraising initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support, such as data entry, file management, and correspondence.
  • Support the Director of Philanthropy & Communications with other tasks as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Outlook), Google applications and experience with donor databases or CRM sorfware.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Have a team-oriented and professioanl demeanor, with a commitment to providing excellent donor stewardship.
  • Passion for the mission of Shepherd's Clinic and a desire to support underserved communities.

Shepherd's Clinic provides quality integrative health care to adults who are medically uninsured, helping people who are unable to afford commercial health insurance and who do not qualify for government assistance.

Description

Shepherd’s Clinic and Joy Wellness Center is an extraordinary, progressive, integrative public health setting that provides health care to uninsured adults through the generous, donated hours of volunteers. With a monthly average of over 500 patient visits, we maintain a busy weekly schedule and rely on volunteers for all positions in the clinic including medical providers, mental health, wellness care, and clinical management. The Joy Wellness Center offers a range of healing arts modalities and programming including: yoga, massage therapy, acupuncture, nutrition education, movement and stress reduction programs, and smoking cessation. Shepherd's Clinic and Joy Wellness Center runs almost solely on volunteers, so our volunteers are the main force of what helps us to fulfill our mission statement.
