ORGANIZATION: Briscoe Western Art Museum

Volunteer with the Briscoe Museum as we celebrate National Day of the Cowboy on July 23, 2022 from 10am-5pm. This event is free and open to the public and includes arts and crafts stations, performers, artist demonstrations, food vendors, and live music.

Volunteers will assist with either check-in stations and/or arts and crafts stations. Those working half-day shifts will receive one (1) 15-minute break and one (1) 30-minute lunch. If you wish to participate all day, please sign up for both shifts. Those working full-day shifts will receive two (2) 15-minute breaks and one (1) 1-hour lunch.

There will be a Volunteer Training over Zoom on Wednesday, July 20 at 6pm. Volunteers will receive the Zoom link after signing up for their shift.

    Shift includes clean-up after event ends at 5pm. Half-day shifts include a 15 minute break and 30 minute lunch.

    Morning shift includes prep and arrival time before event starts at 10am. Half day shifts include a 15 minute break and 30 minute lunch.

Description

The Briscoe Western Art Museum showcases historic and contemporary art and artifacts that highlight the American West. The Museum is housed in San Antonio's 1930's central library building, beautifully restored to its original glory. Vaquero, American Indian, and Cowboy narratives come to life through painting sculpture, photography, and exquisitely crafted artifacts.
